Hello everyone,

I am very new to the topic of new construction and recently visited a model home park where all the houses are much too large for a couple and children.

Is it realistic to have 100 sqm (approximately 1076 sq ft) or more of living space? Have you ever considered this and had to give up something for reasons you prefer not to mention? What were your reasons? I appreciate any advice and opinions!

Thank you very much,

If you are skilled in craftsmanship, you can get a small house with a lot of your own work, but without KfW funding and without any extras.

If you have some DIY skills, you can actually get a small house with a lot of personal labor invested

For him, the 150k is inclusive of additional costs.

I understood it differently; with additional costs, it becomes quite risky...

As well as including interior fittings and kitchen...

The 150,000 euros are intended to cover the house alone. Additional construction costs were not planned, but now I realize how unrealistic the whole project is. In the budget, the interior fittings including the kitchen should be included, excluding the carport / outdoor areas.

So, 150k for the house including interior fittings and kitchen.
Excluding additional construction costs.
Where do you count, for example, the groundwork/foundation slab? (Just to be sure)

I find it really frustrating that "the market" fails (or refuses) to establish a common standard term. For one person, turnkey means X, for another it means Y, for some it doesn’t exist at all, and others mean something completely different.
It deliberately makes it harder to compare apples to apples. I think that’s really unfair. But well, I don’t have to deal with it directly.

Sorry for ranting.

All-inclusive is not the same everywhere.
They are marketing terms.

Tip: The kitchen is a piece of furniture and should be excluded, so it should not be included in the construction cost.
