I am planning to get the IKEA Brimnes bedroom series, and my question is for those who have experience assembling this furniture: How long does it usually take to assemble the IKEA Brimnes?

I’m not only referring to the actual assembly time but also the preparation, sorting of parts, and any potential challenges to keep in mind.

I would really appreciate any time estimates or experiences, ideally broken down by the different components (such as the headboard, drawers, frame, etc.), if possible.

As a rule, it takes about 2 to 3 hours to assemble the entire Brimnes if you have two people.

Sorting the parts usually takes 20 to 30 minutes, with the remaining assembly time about 1.5 to 2 hours.

The headboard and drawers are more time-consuming than the frame.

I can confirm this assessment and would like to organize it a bit:

- Preparation (sorting parts, laying out tools): 20-30 minutes
- Assembly of the headboard: about 45 minutes to 1 hour
- Installing the frame and side panels: about 30-40 minutes
- Assembling and installing the drawers: about 30 minutes

Common mistakes that can extend the time include incorrectly used screws or not following the assembly sequence properly. Therefore, I always recommend carefully following the instructions step by step. If you have no prior experience, it may take longer, especially if adjustments are needed along the way.

Having a second person makes many steps easier, especially when holding large parts. If you are working alone, it’s better to allow 1.5 times more time.

I can definitely relate to that; I was quite stressed during my first furniture assembly with the Brimnes series. The drawers, in particular, tested my patience because I missed a step in the instructions.
