Hello everyone,

We are currently really stressed about the delivery of our steel tube staircase from the company "J....". Since May, they have been contracted by our builder to supply the staircase. In the meantime, it turned out that the site measurement was "misplaced" in June, and we still have no staircase at the house. As a result, the screed cannot be installed, and the delay keeps increasing every day.

What could possibly take so long for a staircase like this? Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks

I believe that, as with any company currently involved in construction, the holiday season and high workload are to blame. Or a supplier might not be delivering, or something else... A phone call could help... the forum less so.

Hello,

yes, that is exactly where the problem lies. The company "J..." Stairs apparently cannot provide our construction company with a clear statement on when the staircase will be finished or installed. According to our site manager, he is not being returned any calls. Even the managing director of our construction company was unable to get any results at the executive level, and we do not understand the issue. Is it really so complicated that it takes weeks for the parts to be delivered and welded together?

Set a deadline and alternatively have them hire a different steel fabricator!

Have you already spoken directly with the stair supplier? We had similar "symptoms," but in the end, the entire delay was simply because our structural builder was supposed to make an advance payment, which he couldn’t do and had to save up for first.
