Hello everyone, I am currently planning to install IKEA Metod kitchen cabinets in my new apartment. Unfortunately, all the walls are made of solid concrete. Now I am wondering how to securely and optimally fasten the wall cabinets to these concrete walls so that they hold up long-term and there is no risk of accidents. Which types of anchors or screws are best suited for this type of wall, and are there any special tips regarding pre-drilling or other particular aspects I should consider during installation? I would greatly appreciate any experiences or recommendations, as I plan to do the installation myself and want to be absolutely sure.
Additional note: For the depth, a general rule of thumb is plug length plus 10-15 mm (0.4-0.6 inches). Always use a drill bit that matches the plug size; otherwise, the expansion function will not work properly. Rotary hammer drills are clearly preferable for continuous use in concrete. If the substrate is solid concrete and not porous, a high-power hammer drill may be sufficient but requires more physical effort and time.

It is a good idea to use thread-locking adhesive to prevent screws from loosening due to vibrations. There are specific products available with different strength levels for this purpose. Alternatively, some people have success using a thin rubber washer to dampen minimal movement. It is important to tighten the screws cleanly and correctly.
I agree with Joe52. I was also concerned about the screws loosening in my kitchen. Threadlocker is a simple and effective way to keep the assembly secure. Additionally, the stress on the cabinets during use should not be underestimated, especially when heavy objects are regularly placed in and taken out.
For permanent fixation, I recommend anaerobic threadlocker (e.g., Loctite 243). These cure without air and reliably prevent self-loosening caused by vibration or load fluctuations. Alternatively, self-locking nuts or locking plates can be used, depending on the screw head and installation situation.
