Hello everyone, I recently noticed some scratched wooden parts on my IKEA Platsa system, which unfortunately have suffered quite a bit from normal use. Since these parts have a veneered surface, I’m wondering how to properly repair such scratches without later color differences or surface damage becoming noticeable. It’s especially important for me to know which products are suitable for the repair, whether special wood repair kits should be used, or if other methods like treating the surface with furniture polish or fillers make sense. I’m looking forward to practical tips for an effective and visually appealing repair!

An alternative, gentle method can be carefully rubbing in furniture oil or paste if the scratch is not too deep. This visually reduces minor damage while simultaneously nourishing the surface. However, it does not replace a proper filler for deep scratches. Important: Clean the surface thoroughly beforehand.

Glad to see you’ve gathered such great tips here! I’d like to add that patience is crucial when it comes to repairs. You should regularly check how the paint looks and preferably correct it in several thin layers. The Platsa parts look really great after the proper treatment – almost like new! So – keep at it and don’t get discouraged!
