Hello everyone, I am currently planning to install Ikea Metod wall cabinets in my apartment. The walls are made of concrete, and I’m wondering what the best and safest way is to mount the cabinets.
Specifically, I’m interested in:
- Which types of anchors and screws are recommended?
- Are there any special considerations for concrete, such as drilling techniques or load distribution?
- Does anyone have experience specifically with Metod cabinets and concrete walls?

One important question remains: Can I use a regular hammer drill to drill directly into the wall, or is a rotary hammer absolutely necessary for a clean and secure installation of the Ikea Metod wall cabinets? I only have a regular hammer drill, not a rotary hammer. Or do I possibly need special accessories to drill the holes deep and precisely?

For one or two holes, it might be manageable, but with several, it quickly becomes tiring and hard to control.
Maybe you can borrow a rotary hammer for this task.
