Hello everyone, I am planning to reorganize my workspace and have chosen Ikea Besta furniture because it seems flexible and modular. My question is: How can I efficiently organize my workspace with Ikea Besta units so that I have enough storage for documents and accessories on one hand, while keeping the work surface clear and maintaining an ergonomic setup? I am especially interested in how to best combine the different modules, tips for layout and internal organization, and if anyone has recommendations for additional inserts or accessories to further enhance functionality. I look forward to your experiences and advice!

I really appreciate how much flexibility the Besta system offers, but at the same time, that can feel overwhelming. My advice: start small, set priorities, and gradually expand your organization. It’s completely normal for it to take a few weeks until everything fits perfectly. If you’re ever unsure about how to make better use of a corner, be patient. The flexibility of Besta allows you to adjust it at any time. You’re not alone with these doubts—I know them very well!

From my experience, suitable inserts for drawers and organizing boxes are key to effectively using the Besta furniture. Without additional dividers or containers, the storage space can quickly become cluttered. Also, make sure to adjust the height of the shelves precisely to fit your stored items, as this saves space.

Another tip: use back panels with clamping strips for loose notes or checklists, which helps maintain order and transparency. From an ergonomic perspective, I recommend designing the workspace so that frequently used items are within easy reach, while less frequently used items are stored lower down or in closed compartments.

I love how much you can do with Besta! 😍 My favorite part is being able to add your own style through different fronts and colors. I used drawers for small items and boxes for papers, and everything looks so much tidier! Important: Take your time during the planning and write down what you need. That way, setting everything up is really enjoyable!

Mix of open shelves and closed compartments: open shelves for frequently used books or devices, closed ones for sensitive or less frequently used items.

I can confirm this statement. It is important to ensure that the open shelves are not overloaded, as this can affect tidiness.

Additionally, cable grommets and rubber buffers on doors are worthwhile to reduce noise. Well-planned lighting, such as LED strips in the compartments, significantly improves visibility.

This is how I organize things: Large drawers for folders, small boxes for pens and small items. Cables secured behind the cabinet with clips. The countertop has enough free space for a laptop and writing materials. Nothing else.
