Hello everyone, I have a quite specific question that’s been on my mind while assembling my new Malm dressers from IKEA: What is the best way to securely attach this piece of furniture, especially to the wall, without visible screws? It’s important to me that the appearance is not disrupted by visible fixings, as the furniture is very simple and modern. I’m looking for methods or special products that allow for a clean, as invisible as possible wall mounting—perhaps there are special anchors, brackets, or tricks using clamp systems? It would also be helpful to know how to securely and evenly install the furniture so it doesn’t shift later on. Does anyone have tips or experience they can share? Thanks in advance!

I always secure Malm dressers using the original wall brackets from IKEA. These are attached to the back of the furniture and then screwed into the wall, so the screws are not visible.

Oh yes, that works great! The IKEA wall mounts are really clever 😃! Just attach them to the back of the dresser, and everything somehow disappears behind the furniture. The important thing is to use screws with suitable wall plugs and to measure carefully. Then everything will be very secure and look fantastic!

Thanks for the tip! Do you know if they hold well on drywall? And how exactly do you attach the anchors to the dresser so that no visible holes remain? I want to avoid any damage being visible when the dresser is moved.

For drywall, be sure to use the appropriate anchors; otherwise, nothing will hold. The holes for the brackets are located at the back of the dresser, so they are usually not visible once the dresser is placed against the wall.

If you want truly invisible fastenings, wall brackets or angle profiles behind the dresser are an option. This way, you can screw from underneath and behind, but the screws are not directly visible.
