Hello everyone, I am planning to install an Ikea Metod kitchen in a room with a sloped ceiling and am facing some challenges related to the slope. My specific question is: How can I best adapt the Metod kitchen cabinets to fit under a sloped ceiling in order to use the space efficiently and avoid issues like missing support surfaces or unused corners? I have already considered custom trims and special mounting methods but am unsure how to implement these with Ikea Metod – especially when it comes to integrating wall cabinets and drawers under the slope. Are there any proven tips for adapting standard kitchen units to the structural challenges of sloped ceilings? Thanks in advance for your support!
Drawers under sloping ceilings often require custom fronts. One option is to cut the sides of the cabinets at an angle and cover the front with panels to hide the slope. Alternatively, you can install pull-out shelves instead of traditional drawers. These are more flexible in terms of space utilization and better adapt to irregular shapes.
