Hello everyone, I am currently planning the renovation of my kitchen using Ikea Metod cabinets and would like to hide as many visible screws as possible for aesthetic reasons, meaning I want to use concealed fasteners. My main question is: How can I use hidden screws or fasteners with Ikea Metod kitchen cabinets without compromising the stability or functionality of the cabinets? Are there special screws, connectors, or techniques to avoid visible screw heads? I would appreciate any advice on suitable materials, fastening points, or possibly manufacturer-recommended solutions. Information on necessary tools or preparatory steps would also be helpful. Thanks in advance!

If the appearance is an issue, you can cover the screw heads with small plastic caps. This is really the quickest solution. They come in various colors, including wood finishes, so they blend in well. You can also apply a clear varnish over them to secure the caps even better.
To add, for side panels, hidden fasteners like frame clamps or clip systems can be used. These are either screwed in from the inside or use holes in the back panel that are not visible. This method saves space and is quite compatible with Metod.
In general: the fewer modifications made to the original structure, the better the stability and the potential for reassembly.
Very interesting topic! I completely understand how visible screws can disrupt the appearance. In my METOD kitchen, I used RY dowels that can be fully recessed and then covered with small wooden caps. It looks really elegant. It does take a bit more time, but the end result is worth the effort! If you want, I can gladly give you more detailed tips on how to position the drill holes precisely.
For hidden screws on Ikea Metod, I recommend installing the screws from the inside whenever possible, such as in the back panel or inner surfaces. Then cover them with caps. Also, use wooden dowels for additional stability, which remain invisible from the outside. This way, you achieve a clean appearance and good load-bearing capacity.
