We have a plot width of 19 meters (62 feet) and want to use it fully: house 11.5 m (38 feet), garage 7.5 m (25 feet)! This means there would be no passageway to the garden, which is usually common. I would like to hear about your experiences. Who has built like this before? Would you build this way again? Or do you regret it in hindsight? How did you manage an alternative access route to the garden?
The drawing is only the architect’s first floor plan. The heating system will be installed in the attic. The rear garage door will be positioned closer to the house.

What we are building is also a semi-detached house.
The carport garage option sounds good, but since we are building without a basement, I think there is not enough storage space inside the house. That’s why I’m leaning towards a large garage, because this is where my tools, drinks, gardening equipment, patio furniture, etc. need to be stored. Also, we will be building the garage out of masonry, so the carport option will probably be ruled out.
You mentioned it costs a lot of nerves, but if we equip the side garage door and the main entrance door with fingerprint access, then the child (from about 6 years old) can go to the garden alone without ringing the bell every five minutes. That’s how I imagine it.
