ᐅ Good windows, reliable protection against break-ins?

Good morning everyone,

The topic of burglary protection is very important to me. I have recently read that many windows do not meet safety requirements. I am now a bit uncertain because I am planning to replace the windows in our older house in the spring.

I would appreciate any tips or recommendations on what types of windows would be suitable.

Thank you very much for your help.

Thank you for the link. However, Schweinfurt is a bit far from us. But I think it is important to address this topic.

In addition to intact doors and windows, I also place great importance on locking mechanisms. For example, I have security locks on the exterior doors, and the windows cannot be easily forced open either.

Hello

The burglar resistance of windows varies and depends, among other things, on the materials used. The more secure a window is, the higher its so-called RC rating (Resistance Class). Additional protection can be provided by using safety glass. This is categorized into "manual attack resistant" and "forced entry resistant" glass. Installing roller shutters and lockable handles also significantly increases the security of windows.

There are already several ways to improve window security. We have also upgraded our windows by installing new security fittings. The idea of using safety glass is also good, and I will consider it carefully.
