Good morning everyone,
The topic of burglary protection is very important to me. I have recently read that many windows do not meet safety requirements. I am now a bit uncertain because I am planning to replace the windows in our older house in the spring.
I would appreciate any tips or recommendations on what types of windows would be suitable.
Thank you very much for your help.

Hello,
I witnessed at my neighbor’s place that the burglars came with heavy equipment. Fortunately, they were unsuccessful because they got disturbed. I suspect that gaining access through these new windows was not easy for them.
Back to the question: I believe it is important for windows and doors to be solidly constructed.

I am really afraid that something like that might happen to me someday. That’s why having sturdy windows and doors is an absolute must. We will also be upgrading ours soon.
Have a great weekend

Nicole1981-114 May 2015 14:42Hi,
Windows make a break-in more difficult, but there is no absolute security. Solid windows make breaking in harder, but no more than that. We have now had an anti-burglary lock installed.
There is also camera surveillance. That makes me feel safer. But one thing is clear to me: burglars know methods to get into the house anyway.
Best regards

Richard-19 Jun 2015 10:46There are no windows that are completely burglar-proof. Anyone who believes that is mistaken. Some window manufacturers may claim this, but it is nonsense. They are just trying to make a sale.
