Hello,

This concerns a house built in 1964 that is going to be completely renovated. We already have an extension on the house (see sketch), which is intended to become the living room and utility room later on. Unfortunately, the extension is only about 3.30 meters (11 feet) wide and 7 meters (23 feet) long on the inside.

The house will eventually be occupied by two adults and two children. We will have to manage with the size, but I would like to hear your opinions or if you have any ideas for expanding or other suggestions for layout options. The floor plan is not final yet and is currently just a sketch. Walls can still be moved since we already have two existing beams (thin lines in the sketch), so there are no structural issues.

We are possibly considering expanding the extension—maybe a conservatory or extending it further out. What do you think?

Thank you!

I don’t see any extension.
And when renovating existing buildings, always post the before and after (current state and target).

I find this splitting of threads not helpful for maintaining an overview. You could continue in this thread here https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/hauskauf-steht-an-bj-62-vollsanierung-notwendig-preis.29940/, so you don’t have to search for what has already been said.

Unfortunately, this drawing doesn’t provide any useful information... any dimensions? Garden? Garage? Where is the entrance? North or South? I also can’t see the extension of 3.3 x 7 m (11 x 23 ft), or is it supposed to be completely on the left?

The entrance should be on the right... cloakroom? What type of room is planned for the top right?

We can’t read your mind 😉

I knew I recognized the house 😉

Anyway:
Old sketch, with what will be removed marked in red, and what will be added marked in green.
I still don’t see any extension.
Dear OP: in this thread, we are not familiar with your house.
In the other thread, the photos show a different house to me than the drawing you want to discuss here.
When renovating or remodeling an older building, the focus is usually on the feasible structural integrity or the drainage systems you want to keep using.
