Hello ... we have designed our dream home based on our "wish list." However, since we are by no means professionals, I would like to ask for your opinions 🙂

The plot: Photo 2840/38

A brief overview of the house:
- The walls near the staircase on the ground floor are sloping
- The terrace is partially covered by extending the roof of the annex over the "tiles" (red surface)
- The front part of the garage and the entrance are also covered
- Windows have not yet been finalized in detail (size, exact placement, etc.)
- The utility room is mainly intended for storage and laundry (washing/hanging clothes)

Thank you very much for your feedback 🙂

Unfortunately, I cannot upload the images, so here is the link:

Without dimensions, this is more of a guessing game, but I’ll try to point out the obvious:

- How do you access the bedroom? I assume the door is missing and opens off the hallway?
- Swap the dressing area and the bedroom, so the bedroom is no longer a walk-through room. The wall at the head of the bed will clash with the window at the bottom of the plan anyway. What is the width of the dressing area? It looks quite narrow.
- A separate toilet definitely has advantages, but I would consider including a washbasin in that room important.

I have inserted the files for you and hope they are clearly visible on a standard screen. I have deleted the link!

Hello matte1987,

thank you for your feedback...

You’re right about the missing dimensions. Unfortunately, with the free version of Floorplanner, the dimensions can’t be exported 🙁
And yes, the bedroom door seems to have disappeared 🙂

We deliberately designed the walk-in closet that way. We saw it at friends’ houses and really like it. The width of the closet is 190cm – 200cm (depending on exactly where I position the wall).

We also discussed having a washbasin in the guest toilet. There is one on the ground floor, but is it common to install one if the bathroom is right next to it?

What do you think about the ground floor? Or do you see anything that only “a layperson” would do? Any serious architectural mistakes? 🙂

Without dimensions, this is hardly possible.
Have you ever posted a plan at the main train station?
The requirements are not documented; will this be a two-story house?

Basically: in the living room, plan the option to close the room off with a sliding door or similar! So, position the windows accordingly.
The bedroom layout is not well thought out; it would be better to place the walk-in closet at the front and adjust the windows as well.
The protrusion in children’s room 2 only adds to the floor area and is otherwise unusable for children. Therefore, make children’s room 2 the same as children’s room 1 and make the wardrobe area accessible to the whole family.

Using the toilet and then leaving the room without washing hands? You can have a separate toilet (with a washbasin), but I would recommend accessing it from the bathroom. This is easily possible here 🙂

Getting the job done while contaminating three door handles with germs on your hands instead of just one faucet?
