Hello, we are currently planning our bungalow.
It won’t be very large, about 140 sqm (1500 sq ft), with two small children soon.

Now I’m wondering how big the children’s rooms should be.
I’m worried they might be too small when the kids grow up. Or do they hardly spend time there anyway?

The children’s rooms are planned to be 13 sqm (140 sq ft) each.
The parents’ bedroom is 15 sqm (160 sq ft) with a walk-in closet.

The complete floor plan will be shared once everything is fully planned, and then you can take it apart and review it.
Good luck!

Our bedroom is also kept small, just enough to fit the bed and a small walk-in closet. The children's room, on the other hand, is larger and in a "better" location. We only sleep in the bedroom. Excess space can be used more efficiently elsewhere.

However, everyone has to decide that for themselves. We also know people who have a fairly large bedroom because they tend to watch more TV there than in the living room.

Children’s rooms each 12m² (130 sq ft) plus dormer, bedroom 10m² (108 sq ft) plus small dressing area or walk-in closet
Later, the children will have a nice view of the garden thanks to the dormer. The bedroom is only used for sleeping, so a room that fits a bed and a wardrobe is sufficient.

We have two children's rooms measuring 17m2 (183 sq ft) each, and a smaller bedroom. A controlled residential ventilation system is definitely beneficial for smaller bedrooms.

We will have two children's rooms, each 15m² (161.5 sq ft), and a master bedroom of 13m² (140 sq ft) plus a walk-in closet of 12m² (129 sq ft).

For me, the children's rooms have always been more important than the bedroom, since I don't spend much time there. Our bedroom will be around 15 square meters (160 square feet), and the children's rooms will be approximately 20 square meters (215 square feet) and 23 square meters (248 square feet) each.

Best regards

So now I’ll throw out some numbers without context... A 15m2 (160ft2) children’s room in a 140m2 (1,510ft2) house is large, but a 12m2 (130ft2) room in a 180m2 (1,940ft2) house doesn’t quite add up.
