I need to replace my refrigerator soon. So far, I had a small one, but now I want to install a fridge-freezer combination. The niche dimensions fit the new one, but right now I see potential issues with the doors. I have a 211cm (83 inches) cabinet divided into three sections: the lower door is 60x70cm (24x28 inches), the other one is 60x90cm (24x35 inches), and the top one is about 60x34.5cm (24x14 inches).

The problem is that the 70cm (28 inches) side isn’t exactly 70cm but only 69.4cm (27⅜ inches), whereas the fridge drawing specifies 69.7cm (27½ inches) for that dimension. Has anyone else installed this kind of setup?

I’d have liked to include a picture, but I wasn’t able to do so....

The fridge-freezer unit is 177cm (70 inches) tall, with the freezer compartment at the bottom and the fridge on top...

There is not even 69.4cm (27.3 inches) available, as about 16mm (0.6 inches) of the cabinet bottom is covered. The only option I see for the combination is to buy a 92cm (36 inches) plus 125cm (49 inches) door, provided the décor is still available.

Hi, the refrigerator fits easily at the bottom; you just need to connect the two doors at the top. The only thing you need is 95° hinges for the 35cm (14 inch) door. There is a small compartment above the refrigerator behind the door. This was also available for years at IKEA. Of course, you could also buy a 125cm (49 inch) door, but it’s not necessary. Best regards, SASCHA

Thanks for the quick responses.
I didn’t really want to buy a new one, but if there’s no other option, I would have to. However, a 92cm (36 inches) or 125cm (49 inches) model is too big, since my cabinet with the base is 211cm (83 inches), so the door panel is roughly 194cm (76 inches) tall overall. But that’s true, there’s even more space taken up by the floor panel.
I think I’ll have to go back to the store and measure the fridge carefully again...

but a 92 and 125 is too much

That’s why I also provided the new cabinet carcass. The fact purchase is only possible until the end of the month, unless it is extended, until everything is sold out.

The carcass doesn’t fit into the kitchen because the adjacent cabinets are only that tall. And I didn’t want to buy everything new either 😱

Today is a shopping Sunday here, so I’ll take some measurements... otherwise, I might have to buy an Ikea fridge. Do you know how they compare?
