Hello everyone!
I am planning to order an IKEA kitchen (Bodbyn) tomorrow and have it installed soon. However, for the refrigerator and oven, I would like to use third-party appliances (Siemens, Bosch, etc.). Unfortunately, only a 45cm (18 inches) dishwasher will fit in my space, so I will probably go with an IKEA dishwasher.

To avoid buying the wrong items, I need your help!

1. What should I pay close attention to?
2. Can I install a refrigerator without any problems? Are flat hinges the right choice? Or will something need to be adapted? Or is it mandatory to use overlay doors like the IKEA standard?
3. What are the niche dimensions (width/depth) for IKEA tall cabinets? Unfortunately, this information is not provided anywhere! I will, of course, adjust the height according to the refrigerator.
4. Do all oven combinations fit into a 60cm (24 inches) niche?

Thank you in advance for your advice!

Hello,
for the cooktop set, you only need to pay attention to the minimum thickness of the countertop specified by the manufacturer. I wouldn’t want to do without pyrolytic cleaning and induction anymore.

Concealed hinges are not a problem. Niche width 562 mm (22 inches), cabinet depth 590 mm (23 inches), minus space for ventilation still leaves enough room. You need to check which heights the fronts are available in and whether they will fully cover the refrigerator door. For the linked appliance, a 140 cm (55 inches) door is too tight, so you will need to use 180 cm (71 inches).

Thank you for your response and help!

I have another question about the refrigerator.

Would it be possible to install this refrigerator inside a 220cm (87 inch) tall cabinet in the middle, with a 40cm (16 inch) door both above and below it?
In your last reply, you mentioned that the niche height might be too tight and that I should rather install a 180cm (71 inch) door. I think that might be too large to open every time.
Could I solve this by moving the upper shelf up by one hole to the door? That would create a gap, but it would be around 200cm (79 inch) high and therefore hardly visible when standing in front.

If that is not possible, could you briefly explain why?

Thanks and best regards!

I wrote this quickly and only looked at the side view in the dimension sketches. You can do it the way you described, so that part of the refrigerator is covered by the other doors. I would arrange it so that a bit of the bottom is hidden behind the lower door, ensuring that the control/display area is fully accessible when the refrigerator door is open. Ultimately, these detailed decisions are best made when you have the cabinet and appliance in front of you.
