BoPaDi24Hello everyone,
We would like to install our washing machine elevated by about 60 cm (24 inches). However, the wastewater connection is only about 80 cm (31 inches) above the finished floor level. According to the washing machine’s manual, the drain should be between 60 and 100 cm (24 and 39 inches) high. If the washing machine is raised by 60 cm (24 inches), the drain would, in my understanding, need to be at least 120 cm (47 inches) high.
How could this be solved? Opening the wall to raise the drain is not really a practical option. There must be other possibilities, right? We would appreciate any tips.
Best regards

Can someone explain the problem to me? I understand that the drain shouldn’t be too high, but what would be the issue if it’s "too" low? Then the water might drain unintentionally.nordanney schrieb:

Insert an elbow, fix a straight pipe upwards to the wall with a clamp, and then connect the washing machine drain at the top. I initially thought about just attaching a trap and then connecting the wastewater at the top of the trap. However, I would lose nearly 10cm (4 inches) in depth, and I want to keep the cabinet as close to the wall as possible since our utility room is generally very narrow. I’m afraid the loss with a PVC bend would be even greater, right?

If your washing machine drum is indeed above the drain level, it’s enough to create a 180-degree loop with the flexible drain hose. There are also wall brackets for this to keep it stable. The drain is roughly at the height of the beginning of the washing machine drum. Creating a loop would of course be the easiest solution. Thanks for the tip!
