Hello everyone,

I was just planning a kitchen, and since there is currently a 20% discount on the Faktum kitchens, it might be even more worthwhile.
I am just wondering what the main difference is compared to the new Metod series?

So far, I have basically only noticed that the components come in 20cm (8 inches) increments and the height has changed.
Therefore, I’m looking for someone who is familiar with the current Faktum kitchen and might be able to spot the details more quickly.
And maybe it’s also worth waiting for Metod for me.

Although my oven also vents at the front, sufficient ventilation behind it is still necessary. Check the specifications provided by your appliance manufacturer.

Hello everyone,
if one side of the cabinet is free-standing, meaning it is not against a wall or an overhead cabinet, you can also ventilate it from the side using a grille. It should be placed in the upper third of the cabinet side. I have done this before, using a stainless steel perforated sheet or an aluminum perforated sheet (possibly painted) as a grille substitute. The length can also be adjusted as needed.

Best regards, Herr rossi

My oven also vents forward, but adequate ventilation must still be provided behind it. Check the specifications from your appliance manufacturer.

This concerns the intake of cold air, not the exhaust of warm air; obviously, there must be enough air space behind the oven. Most kitchen manufacturers therefore install ovens on angle brackets or at least shortened or notched base panels.

There are different ventilation systems: some draw fresh air under the oven compartment, which you can see if you open the door and look down there; others take it between the cabinet side panel and the oven’s rear panel, where spacers are placed behind the panel in the screw holes.

Off the top of my head, I can’t think of any manufacturer that still requires ventilation through the plinth with a vent grille.

In dual-channel ventilation systems, cold air is conducted through the oven door above the cooking chamber to the rear, and in a second channel above that (dual channel) is blown forward again between the door and the control panel. But this system also requires space and airflow behind the oven.

@Ikea-Experte,

then this is required for your oven according to the installation manual and MUST be followed.
