ᐅ Access to the garden from a lower level

Please take a look at my photo and maybe you can suggest how I could create a staircase or some kind of terrace as a path from the door to the garden, preferably with very low costs.

Staircase without a foundation?

I have been considering whether it would be possible to pile up sand and build a staircase made of (granite) stones on top. Maybe in a semicircle, extending outward in all directions. The picture only shows the material I have in mind. Can you tell me how much soil I need to excavate and how I should compact it using a compactor?

I would rather go for a wooden staircase with a stainless steel structure.
