Does anyone here have an exposed roof structure made of spruce and can tell me how quickly it darkened, meaning how fast the fresh "white" appearance of spruce disappeared?
Was the exposed roof structure, meaning the wood, treated or left natural?
In which rooms do you have an exposed roof structure (bathroom/kitchen?), and are there any issues (water stains, mold, or similar) that could have been avoided?

It might not be exactly the same, but perhaps this information will still help... We have an untreated spruce cabinet that is about 20 years old. Compared to our pine cabinets, which are about the same age, it still has a very nice, light color. The pine furniture, on the other hand, has darkened to almost dark brown. Best regards, Steffi33.

I am now glad that I didn’t do anything about it, as the subtle golden tint fits very well with the overall appearance.
