Hello everyone,

This summer, I bought an apartment on the 2nd floor/upper floor, and we have been living here since mid-August.
Although I like the old kitchen and bathroom, both need to be replaced – the countertop is too low at 82cm (32 inches) due to the large, low window, there is no dishwasher or induction cooktop, the bathroom vanity is too low, and overall everything is quite worn. The toilet is very small – I see the possibility of moving the bathtub under the window, the toilet into the bathroom, and at the same time creating a storage room with space for a washing machine. The boiler could possibly be relocated to the attic.
There is also an additional 15sqm (160 sq ft) room with garden access in the basement, currently used as a laundry and storage room.

In principle, I would like a small seating area in the kitchen, but I think it will already be challenging to fit the kitchen in with the apparently difficult dimensions.
So far, I have only been to the Ikea "kitchen studio," where they pointed out the problematic layout.
I want a cozy, possibly nicely mismatched but practical kitchen in a country style. An additional china cabinet is located in the dining-living room.

The room labeled "living room" on the plan is the bedroom, next to it is the dining-living room, and "Kab." is the children’s room. This layout should remain as it is. On the left wall of the plan opposite the toilet door is a narrow built-in closet. There is actually no balcony.

Please help, I welcome any ideas on how the kitchen/bathroom/toilet could be redesigned.

Client requirements
Number of people, ages: 2, aged 29 and 3
Office: family use or home office? Home office
Overnight guests per year: 2?
Number of dining seats: 4, max 6

Best regards

Please mark the supply and drain pipes. I would assume the squares between the sink and the toilet represent drain pipe shafts. The 7 cm (3 inches) walls are likely not load-bearing and should at least be repositionable. The 25 cm (10 inches) walls and the opening dimensions also suggest construction from before the 1960s.
