Hello!
I am currently looking for a carport.
I actually prefer not to use wood since our patio roof is also made of anthracite aluminum.
Several offers for double carports with storage rooms were over €25,000, which seemed too expensive for a first purchase, even though the quality was likely very good.
There are various online suppliers offering relatively simple aluminum carports with polycarbonate twin-wall roofing panels, for example under the name "Verona 5000." However, I’m concerned that these might be a bit too flimsy.
I’ve attached two pictures. One shows a roof connected to the house (the more expensive option) and the other one shows two separate single carports with an inexpensive corrugated metal shed as a bike/storage room.
Option 1 would be nice, but it would nearly use up our entire budget reserve for the house construction. I don’t think much will be left by the time the house is finished anyway. The driveway also needs to be done first, and the patio has priority over the carports.
Or maybe a wooden double carport? I’m not sure if that would suit the house.
Good luck

daniels8714 Feb 2016 16:47I also have several quotes from different manufacturers in aluminum and steel, always between €16,000 and €30,000.
For wooden versions, prices range from €2,500 to €5,000.

Do you have a picture for us?Sure. I'll take a picture tomorrow. It's already dark now.
Thank you, I will take another look at that as well.
I have now managed to reduce the price of my steel carport to 8500 € (approximately 8500 €), but it is still quite a bit more expensive than a wooden carport.
By the way, is it possible to have a green roof on a wooden carport? This is a requirement in the building area....
Best regards,
Andreas

This question didn’t arise for us because everyone can do it however they want here.
For our size, I would definitely prefer using a central post. The span is quite large; two big cars can fit side by side without any problems getting in or out.
Just contact Weka for more information.
