Dear forum,

I am currently experiencing the ups and downs of kitchen planning and hope for your help.
In my new kitchen, I would like a built-in refrigerator with a freezer compartment (built-in to match the front panels for a clean look). The ideal size for me would be the Svalkas model:

Open refrigerator in a kitchen with vegetables, fruits, and glasses.

Product dimensions
Width: 54.0 cm (21 inches)
Depth: 54.9 cm (22 inches)
Height: 87.3 cm (34 inches)
Cable length: 240 cm (94 inches)
Refrigerator capacity: 109 liters (29 gallons)
Freezer capacity: 14 liters (4 gallons)
Weight: 29.00 kg (64 lbs)
Energy efficiency class A++. Scale ranges from A+++ (highest efficiency) to D (lowest efficiency).
Annual energy consumption: 151 kWh/year.
Usable volume refrigerator: 109 liters (29 gallons).
Usable volume freezer: 14 liters (4 gallons). 4-star freezer compartment.
Noise level: 38 dB(A).
Climate class: SN/T.
Freezing capacity: 2 kg/24 hrs (4.4 lbs/24 hrs).
LED lighting; no replacement needed.
Refrigerant: R600a.
Voltage: 220-240V.
Storage time during power failure: 10 hrs.
Defrosting system: automatic (refrigerator); manual (freezer).
Comes with ice cube tray.
Includes 1 ice scraper.
Includes 1 compartment for 6 eggs.
Includes 1 vegetable drawer.

However, this model seems to require installation in a very tall cabinet around 220 cm (87 inches) high! The refrigerator itself is only 87.3 cm (34 inches) tall. Is it possible to install it under the countertop? Or also in a cabinet only 148 cm (58 inches) high?
The only refrigerator the HomePlanner suggests can be installed under the countertop (and has a freezer compartment) is the "HUTTRA," but it is much too small (and there is a large gap between the top of the refrigerator and the countertop).

Any ideas from your side?

Hello,
placing it under the countertop is not possible. I don’t know why it shouldn’t be possible to install it in a 140cm (55 inches) tall cabinet, as long as there is sufficient ventilation.
You can also check with other manufacturers for built-in refrigerators.
