Hello everyone,
I’m new to the forum and would like to share my experience with building a house myself.
For me, building a house on your own is not rocket science. I have been moving around construction sites in all trades for 36 years.
Now it’s time for me to pass on my knowledge to you.
My last house was built in 2018 / 2019 and it is now our holiday home in beautiful MV.
So if you are planning to build your own house as well, I’d be happy to answer your questions.
I’ll gladly post 2-3 pictures! (actually there are quite a few more)

White single-family house with solar panels, large tree in front, garden with fence and building timber.

Two-story house with light facade, balconies and rolling shutters; paved courtyard.

Designed and built by myself.

Best regards to EVERYONE

Hello everyone,
this is how it all started. Thanks again for the improvements to the (completion) ver...
I was always looking for a boathouse by Lake Schwerin, but they were all quite expensive and dilapidated.
I searched and searched and searched. One weekend in 2017, I looked for plots of land and there it was:
one available 300 m (980 feet) from the water. I was quite surprised.
So I bought the plot with a foundation slab and a partially basement, of course dry.
All utilities new in the basement! Awesome.
Water / sewage / gas / electricity already with meters, so I didn’t need a certified professional for registration.
Gas registration was no problem for me.
So I’ll start posting from the beginning with a few pictures now and then.
There will be some spelling mistakes here and there, that’s just how it is.
Pictures coming. And a little view of the LAKE

So then it was time to get to work!
Surveying was done, the foundation slab was checked, defects in the slab were fixed, and it was prepared for the house construction.
But watch out, I started with the land and garden first! I put up the fence, trimmed the trees, and did paving work.
This way, I didn’t face any issues during construction and saved a lot of money.
Because I could transport everything with the pallet truck.
I would definitely do it this way again.
Here are a few pictures again.

The paving work will be completed in two weeks.
Work continues tomorrow!
By the way, Schwerin is an angler’s paradise!
