Hello everyone,
I’m new to the forum and would like to share my experience with building a house myself.
For me, building a house on your own is not rocket science. I have been moving around construction sites in all trades for 36 years.
Now it’s time for me to pass on my knowledge to you.
My last house was built in 2018 / 2019 and it is now our holiday home in beautiful MV.
So if you are planning to build your own house as well, I’d be happy to answer your questions.
I’ll gladly post 2-3 pictures! (actually there are quite a few more)
Designed and built by myself.
Best regards to EVERYONE

Why are you only coming now?!
We constantly have bad experiences with contractors here, but with you by our side, no problem at all...
Maybe I’ll build again... do you also help nationwide in Germany?
What can you guarantee?
Good food, fun, a place to sleep, and drinks of your choice—I’d take a year off for that.
How large is your project, and what will it cost you in the end?
The like will come later!! If you can take a year off, then you’re capable of building everything yourself. The owner is always the one in charge. Step by step, and you’ll reach the goal faster than you think. I just don’t want to depend on other contractors.
We use the house and bathroom every two weeks.

Could one of the moderators please correct the title? It really hurts the eyes...
Great DIY effort, but do you use the bathroom outside of the Christmas season as well? It’s probably a spelling difficulty, completion... MANY THANKSH

I have the utmost respect for people who do it—whether building a house, restoring a classic car, or completing other projects that take 1000 or more hours. So: respect!
Vicky Pedia schrieb:It is absolutely fine and proper to do things yourself and then have a qualified professional inspect and approve the work. Whether someone works on the electrical system in their house or the brakes on their car—if they have the skills, they are allowed to do it. Sometimes an authority simply needs to confirm that everything is correct.
Seems suspicious to me!

Everything from the foundation slab up was done by themselves, after work and on weekends. Friends and relatives helped here and there. It wasn’t an easy time (6 months) but it was unbeatable in terms of cost.
Don’t you have to add the income you lose in that year to the costs?
The income that slips through my hands is the current value of the house.
The trend is rising.
The value of the land and the house today is almost double.
For every house and price, there is someone who would buy it.
I calculate the value of the house!
