Hello

Are there good retrofit smart home systems available?

We bought a semi-detached house as a new build from a developer.

The electrician declined to work with KNX and said he is not familiar with it and won’t do it.

My question is: Are there good retrofit options for smart home systems that don’t require opening up the walls (that is not an option)?

Which systems would you recommend?

Functions:

Light control
Window sensors (preferably invisible)
Shutter control
Music control
Video doorbell

It should definitely be possible to create scenes and rules.

I’m also open to other suggestions for useful functions I may not have thought of yet.

I don’t necessarily need a server. I use a Raspberry Pi 4 with the Z-Stick 7 for my Z-Wave devices in Home Assistant. Data is stored on a NAS. The warmest device is still the Fritzbox. And yes, thanks to the central ventilation system, the heat output from the equipment can also be used for heat recovery :P

Does anyone have experience with the Eltako Wibutler?
Is it possible to create automations with the Wibutler?

It is a smart home controller that can connect Z-Wave, Zigbee, and EnOcean.

Does anyone perhaps know of another controller that offers the same capabilities?

So you don’t strictly need a server because you already have two :p

@untergasse43 Do you have any experience with the Wibutler?

Is it possible to create more complex automations?

Are there any alternatives to Wibutler? I only know about Homee, but Wibutler is probably better, right?

I've seen it from time to time at trade shows, but personally, I'm not interested, so my knowledge is limited to what I've found on Google or in brochures.
