We have a clog, and after cleaning everything, I discovered that the trap is blocked. It’s disappointing that the part cannot be replaced (Viega, but it seems to be all one piece?) and the entire assembly needs to be changed.

There is an access opening, but I am not sure how to remove the overflow. I don’t see any screws or similar fasteners. Of course, the new pipe for the overflow will somehow need to be brought up.

The problem is that we are currently installing new tiles in the bathroom and want to close the access opening soon. The earliest appointment for a plumber is in a month. That’s okay (maybe we’ll leave the last tile section around the access opening open), but if it’s not too difficult to replace the part myself, I would consider doing it.
Thank you.
