Hello everyone,
I have a question for the experts here (both gentlemen and ladies):
The plumbing company that installed and fitted our bathroom components (toilet, bathtub, shower, etc.) charged separately for all wall drillings on their invoice.
Their reasoning was that since floor tiles were used on the walls and these are thicker, it requires more time to drill the holes for the shower enclosure and washbasins.
Is this common practice?
(According to the tiler, it is now "normal" for floor tiles to be installed on walls as well.)
At first, this sounds like a way to overcharge...
Thank you very much for your feedback!

The question of who will be commissioned by the original poster has not been answered yet. However, I’m happy to admit that I have already answered it for myself ;-)
If it is a general contractor (GC), their subcontractors are familiar with the GC’s standards; their prices are based on these. If, due to the pattern layout, something changes regarding the typically required tiles, they will likely factor in any additional work for fastening (drill bit wear) and charge accordingly.
Best regards, Bauexperte
