Brittatje10 Nov 2012 21:12Hello dear IKEA fans,
I have a problem and urgently need help. I have uploaded a picture at the link below showing the positioning of our Atlant siphon. According to the IKEA installation instructions, the water level should simply not be directly at the height right under the drain.
The water drains very slowly, and we also have backflow from the dishwasher. Could this installation work, or is the drain possibly clogged? Or is this setup completely doomed to fail?
How can I solve this problem? Is there anyone who has managed to install it under the same conditions?

Nayla_106810 Nov 2012 22:41Hi,
basically, just rotate the entire siphon forward. To explain simply, viewed from above, turn the trap bend from 11 o’clock to around 7–6 o’clock. This way the drain pipe will lie straight instead of bending and should hopefully work. That the outlet is positioned higher than the siphon could still cause issues, although I think even standard drains would face the same problem. It looks like the drain is installed in an OSB wall—could it be set deeper there? Try rotating it first and please let me know how it goes.
Best regards
