Good morning everyone, I am currently considering purchasing Billy shelves for my office and wondering if IKEA offers reinforced versions of these shelves.
Specifically, I am interested in whether there are BILLY models designed for higher loads or heavier weights, for example with stronger materials, thicker shelves, or additional stability features.
I generally like the standard shelves, but I need a solution that can consistently support more weight without sagging or becoming unstable.
Are there official versions or accessories available to increase their stability? Thanks for your helpful advice!

A brief addition:
The maximum load capacity specified by the manufacturer for Billy is about 15 kg per shelf, which is due to the material quality.
For shelves loaded with 25-30 kg, I definitely recommend using self-reinforced shelves, for example, plywood with a thickness of 18-22 mm (0.7-0.9 inches) plus additional bracing underneath the shelf.
Wall mounting is mandatory to transfer the forces and ensure stability.
This is the only way to guarantee the safety and durability of your BILLY shelves.

It would also be interesting to know if there are official IKEA accessories, such as metal brackets or other reinforcements for BILLY shelves?

However, you can use universal furniture brackets available at hardware stores. These can be attached to the side panels or the bottom shelves.
Some users also fix metal flat bars to the back of the shelving unit to prevent sagging.
Overall, this is a do-it-yourself solution since IKEA designs the shelf as an affordable system intended for light to moderate household use.
