ARIKSIHello everyone, I am looking for specific information: Are there official repair manuals for IKEA Malm furniture?
I recently bought a Malm bedside table and noticed that one of the drawer slides is sticking. Before I take it apart and possibly make a mistake, I wanted to know if IKEA officially provides such repair manuals or if one usually has to rely on unofficial sources and forums.
I am specifically interested in a reliable source so that I don’t damage anything and can repair the piece as professionally as possible. Thanks in advance for your feedback!

It’s really frustrating when a rail gets stuck, especially with MALM, since they are quite popular.
I once had a similar issue and went through several videos – without an official manual, you sometimes feel unsure. I hope IKEA provides more support in the future, especially for repairs, to help extend the life of the furniture.

Regarding official repair instructions, I can say that IKEA deliberately limits itself to assembly manuals because the furniture parts are generally available as replacements. In case of issues like drawer slides sticking, I recommend removing the part and possibly ordering a replacement directly online from IKEA.
The manuals are of little help in such cases, as they usually only describe the assembly process, not maintenance.

I really like the MALM series, but yes, when it comes to repairs, it can quickly get confusing. 😅
Maybe try contacting IKEA customer service? They sometimes have tips for regular customers or are very helpful with spare parts. Occasionally, you can also find user information via email that isn't publicly available.
My advice: Don’t get discouraged, you can usually manage it. 🙂

Hello ARIKSI, your question is very sensible! Official repair instructions from IKEA for MALM furniture do not actually exist.
IKEA mainly provides assembly instructions and a spare parts service. For repairs, it is recommended to rely on experience shared online or to contact customer service directly.
If you are unsure, you can take photos of the damaged area and ask for an assessment from the service or in forums. This way, you can avoid costly mistakes. Good luck!
