Hello everyone, I am currently facing a problem with my Ikea Metod kitchen installation, where some essential parts are missing. Specifically, the screws and connectors needed for assembling the base cabinets are not included. These parts do not seem to be listed in either the packaging or the assembly instructions. My question is: What is the best way to handle missing parts like screws or fittings to ensure the installation can be completed correctly and safely? Is ordering replacements through Ikea the only option, or are there proven alternatives or tips you would recommend? Thank you in advance for your support!

It’s best to contact Ikea customer service directly and report the missing parts. They usually send the replacement parts to you free of charge.

It makes sense to first check carefully whether the parts are truly missing or perhaps just located in an unexpected spot within the packaging. If something is actually missing, Ikea usually offers a quick spare parts service. It is important that you have the part numbers or a precise description so that customer service can assist you effectively.

Missing parts in the Metod series are not uncommon. Screws and wall plugs are especially critical, as the stability of the cabinets depends on them. A systematic approach would be:

- Carefully check the packaging, including smaller bags inside plastic bags or boxes
- Study the exploded diagrams in the manual to identify the exact parts
- If parts are missing, note down the exact names and quantities
- Contact Ikea’s spare parts service

Sometimes replacement parts are sent quickly, but deliveries can also take a few days. It should also be noted that Ikea does not offer a warranty policy that facilitates the assembly – you usually have to be very proactive yourself. Which parts are missing exactly? That can influence the answer.

Thank you for your follow-up question! Specifically, I am missing about 20 of the large connecting lock nuts and around 30 of the small screws used to attach the back panels. The manual lists these parts by name and number, but they simply are not in the box. I have checked the packaging multiple times, but they are definitely not there.

That sounds like a straightforward case for ordering spare parts from Ikea. Usually, these screws are readily available as replacement parts. You should also ask if Ikea can send you a partial delivery to avoid unnecessary delays in your assembly progress.
