I recently moved into a multi-room apartment and am considering using Ikea Platsa furniture to optimize the space. My specific question is: How can Ikea Platsa furniture be best used in multi-room apartments to efficiently incorporate storage, visually separate areas, and at the same time remain flexible to accommodate different living needs? I am especially interested in solutions that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing, as I value a harmonious overall look. I would appreciate tips on specific configurations, placement options, and design ideas that also address the challenges of multi-room apartments, such as small areas, narrow passages, or multi-purpose room usage.

PLATSA is very suitable as a room divider and storage solution. Simply place individual modules between two rooms or in areas where you need more organization. Use closed fronts for a tidy look and open ones for decoration.

Your concern is completely understandable, especially when living in a multi-room apartment where rooms often need to serve multiple functions. I personally used PLATSA as a flexible solution in both the living room and bedroom, but it was a process to figure out how much modularity I truly needed. I found it important to choose furniture pieces that fit my daily routine, not just look nice, but also help me stay organized.

That’s exactly it! PLATSA has that clever modular system feeling, allowing you to realize almost any creative space idea. For example, I’m using it to build a sort of wall unit that separates two rooms, and I’m adding some plants to make it feel cozy instead of bulky. Taking a bit of a risk by combining open and closed elements always pays off. And hey, the fun of putting it together definitely doesn’t hurt either 😉.

I once used PLATSA to separate my home office from the living area without having to build walls. I simply placed tall cabinets with doors that can be accessed from both sides. The clever part is that I can neatly store many things while still enjoying convenience from both rooms. Adding some decoration on top makes the whole setup feel cozy instead of boxy. It doesn’t interfere if you plan it smartly!

That’s an interesting approach, thank you! I am curious about how stable these partition walls made with PLATSA are when used to divide a room and possibly also as storage. Are there any tips for simplifying the assembly or securing the modules so that everything stays stable even if moved? In an apartment building, furniture used as room dividers also needs to be quite sturdy.
