Hello everyone, I am currently planning to expand my IKEA PAX system and am interested in any additions that could make it more flexible to use. Specifically, I am thinking about practical interior fittings like adjustable shelves, drawer inserts, or maybe innovative accessories that allow for a modular or changing arrangement of compartments and clothing. Which additions have you used in your PAX system to make it as flexible and adaptable as possible to changing needs? Tips on how to optimize storage space while keeping things organized would be especially helpful, even when frequently rearranging items or adding new accessories. I would really appreciate hearing about your experiences and recommendations!

The best options are shelves with adjustable height and drawer inserts. This allows you to quickly customize the compartments. Pull-out closet rods with extendable arms are also useful.

Hey Aytekinjo, you’re going to love the PAX interior fittings! Especially the drawers with dividers keep everything so organized, and you can easily adjust the shelves depending on what you need. Definitely try the hanging baskets – they’re super practical for accessories! I really enjoy redesigning my system again and again! 😊

An addition that offers a lot of flexibility is the use of clamp-on hangers for clothes hangers. This allows you to adjust the height of the rod, creating space for longer garments when needed. Equally important are adjustable drawer dividers.

I assembled the PAX system myself a few months ago and was initially unsure because I often need to switch between closet compartments and shelves. What really helped me were flexible inserts and especially the drawers with well-designed organizers. Sometimes it feels like a jungle of options, but by trying things out step by step, you find your perfect combination. Do you have any specific requirements? For example, frequently changing clothes or more seasonal storage?

Thanks for asking! For me, it’s actually a mix: I change my wardrobe often and also accommodate the switch between thicker and thinner garments depending on the season. That means having the option to quickly rearrange individual compartments is important to me, as well as the ability to store different types of clothing like trousers, shirts, and accessories neatly and separately. Shelves or drawers that can be easily moved or reorganized are a plus.
