Hello everyone,

I am currently tasked with redesigning my wardrobe and am looking into the Ikea Pax series. I have a question: Are there any Ikea Pax models that come with built-in or optional integrated pull-down clothes rails?

I am specifically looking for a convenient solution that allows you to easily pull out and lower hanging clothes without stretching or needing a step stool.

Does Ikea offer such models or at least suitable add-on modules that can be integrated into the Pax wardrobes? If so, what versions are available, and how reliable and high-quality are these pull-down rails?

I look forward to concrete experiences or advice, ideally including tips on installation and operation. Thanks in advance!

Hello farlis,

Ikea does not offer an integrated pull-down wardrobe rail for the Pax system.

However, you can buy externally available pull-down rails and install them in the wardrobe. Ikea itself does not provide original parts for this.

That is correct.

The Ikea Pax system is modular and flexible but does not include factory-installed or integrated pull-down wardrobe rails.

However, there are various third-party manufacturers that produce functional pull-down rails specifically designed for wardrobes like Pax. These are usually installed separately, for example, directly under the wardrobe top panel or on the wardrobe side.

Typical features of such rails:
- Easy raise and lower operation using a handle
- Sturdy metal construction
- Available in different sizes to fit the Pax system

It is important to know the exact dimensions of the Pax wardrobe before purchasing to ensure compatibility. The load capacity should also suit the amount of clothing.

Conclusion: No original Ikea product, but practical add-on solutions from third-party suppliers.

That’s correct. I faced the same issue and was initially disappointed that Ikea didn’t offer a solution.

However, I purchased a high-quality pull-down wardrobe rail from a specialized manufacturer and installed it in my Pax wardrobe. The installation was a bit tricky but manageable with some patience.

A tip: Make sure the pull-down rail operates smoothly and is sturdy. Cheap models tend to cause problems.

The lift function really helps me, especially in tall wardrobes, allowing me to bring clothes down comfortably without having to climb.
