I can’t say anything about that. First, we need to wait and see what stops working as usual.
Hey!
Are you okay with the following solution for the bell notification?
- Grouping posts in a thread since the last visit to that thread, then allowing a new grouping again. (Still showing an entry in notifications)
- Unread notifications are highlighted in a different color (or bold or similar)
- A notification is only marked as "read" when the thread is actually visited
- Read notifications are deleted after 24/48 hours? (In the account, overall listing)
- Only unread notifications are shown in the bell icon.
Please provide your feedback on this.
Thank you.

1 Threaded groups of posts in a topic since the last visit to that topic. Then possible regrouping again. (Still counts as one notification)
2 Unread notifications are highlighted with a different color (or bold font, or similar)
3 A notification is only marked as "Read" once the topic is visited
4 Read notifications are deleted after 24/48 hours? (In the user account, complete list)
5 Only unread notifications are shown in the bell icon. So, option 1 means if I just read topic X, then 4 people post in topic X, one notification A appears in the bell icon, which according to point 2 is shown in BOLD to make it stand out as unread under "all notifications."
Now I revisit the page and read the latest posts in topic X. This triggers point 3: the bold formatting is removed and notification A no longer appears in the bell icon.
Then users post again in topic X. A new notification B is generated in the bell icon. Due to point 5, only notification B is visible in the bell. Notification A for topic X is no longer shown there and is only accessible via the profile under "all notifications." It will also be deleted from "all notifications" after 48 hours.
==> That means a maximum of one notification per topic is visible in the bell at any time. I think this is fine. *thumbsup*
This brings me to a question: what happens if there are notifications for more than 10 topics in the bell? Will all unread notifications be shown there, or will older bell notifications be pushed out when a thread is read?

This makes me wonder: what happens if there are entries in the bell for more than 10 topics? Will all unread notifications be shown then, or will bell notifications shift as threads are read? If there are 40, then there are 40 — the bell can hold them all (a scrollbar will appear in the overlay).
In addition, notifications older than 30 days are deleted. (Even if they haven’t been viewed, to keep the database clean)

Monday / Tuesday a major update will be released, many new features will be added again. How come every time someone replies to a thread that was actually set to no notifications, the toggle still resets to "Push, immediately" by default?
