Some time ago, I bought Malm furniture from Ikea and I’m wondering if there are any specific care products for this type of furniture or if there are special considerations when cleaning and maintaining it.
I have read that Malm furniture is usually made of particle board with a foil or lacquer finish, but often there are special products that help preserve the surface protection and care for the material.
Are there any particular care products recommended for Malm furniture? Or are regular furniture cleaners sufficient? If so, which products would you suggest, or are there any that should be avoided to prevent damage to the surface?

I would like to add a note: Please avoid using aggressive cleaners containing ammonia or bleaching agents. These substances can damage the film on Malm furniture and cause it to become permanently dull.
As Trafar already mentioned, specially formulated care products are not strictly necessary – gentle cleaning, a soft cloth, and occasional treatment with a plastic care product are completely sufficient.
For long-term satisfaction, proper protection against UV exposure and discoloration is also important, so I would recommend a care product with UV protection.

In general, the care routine is surely individual for everyone – I think it’s important not to treat the furniture with too much moisture and to avoid harsh products. Sensitive material, but durable with the right care.
