Hello everyone, I have a small issue with my Malm nightstand from Ikea: the plastic feet on the bottom have broken, which causes the furniture to be a bit unstable and the surface rubs against the floor. Unfortunately, Ikea does not seem to offer these feet individually or sell replacement parts directly.

My question is: does anyone have experience with where to find suitable replacement feet for the Malm nightstand? Or does anyone know of universal alternatives that can be easily installed without damaging the furniture? I would greatly appreciate specific sources or tips, especially if someone has already tried it. Thanks in advance!

You can often buy the plastic feet at a hardware store; just bring the measurements with you. Alternatively, some shops on eBay or Amazon offer suitable universal feet.

To explore this topic further: The plastic feet of the Malm nightstand usually have a diameter of about 2 to 2.5 cm (0.8 to 1 inch) and are often attached to a small plastic pin. Although the broken foot cannot really be repaired, the problem can be solved by using suitable replacement feet from a furniture or hardware store that match the same measurements (e.g., furniture feet with screw threads or plastic glides).

Another option is to contact Ikea customer service, as they sometimes supply individual spare parts, even if these are not directly visible in the online store. Often, these feet are standard components, so the hardware store is a reliable alternative.

It is important to measure precisely before purchasing and to pay close attention to the type of attachment (press-in, plug-in, or screw-in foot) so that the replacement feet can be installed easily and stability is maintained.

Great tip, thanks! 🙂 I had a similar experience with another piece of furniture, and the universal feet from the hardware store worked perfectly. Just ask for standard sizes, and it usually works out without any issues!

One more thought: some people also use felt pads or small furniture casters as replacements if the plain plastic feet don’t fit. They even offer a bit more floor protection. That might be worth trying if it’s hard to find the right feet. Good luck, it will work out! :-)
