Hello everyone,
This week we attended the selection appointment for our house and are still undecided about which type of door to choose for our balcony door (3m opening width): currently, a tilt-and-slide door from Kneer is included, while the lift-and-slide door would cost an additional 2630€ including film coating.
There seems to be some debate on this topic, as many say the lift-and-slide door requires more effort to open. Unfortunately, I can’t make a direct comparison at the moment. What do the experienced home builders think about this?
Regards,
Uwe

The main advantage would be the lower threshold; the question is whether that is worth €2,500.Hello,
as far as I know, the lower threshold is also available for regular doors and, I believe, also for a sliding and tilt door (PSK).
However, it comes with a small additional cost.
Best regards,
Dirk

When I think about how often someone used to trip over the threshold on our rooftop terrace in the “old” apartment...
With our low threshold so far: 0.00 trips...

Sebastian791 Jun 2015 16:28I agree... it's just a bit more complicated because of the water.

Doc.Schnaggls1 Jun 2015 16:31That's correct – but since our terrace drops almost two meters (6.5 feet) down on three sides, and we also have drainage installed between the window sill and the terrace slabs, I’m not worried about it.
