ᐅ Tilt-and-turn or lift-and-slide door for the balcony?

Hello everyone,

This week we attended the selection appointment for our house and are still undecided about which type of door to choose for our balcony door (3m opening width): currently, a tilt-and-slide door from Kneer is included, while the lift-and-slide door would cost an additional 2630€ including film coating.

There seems to be some debate on this topic, as many say the lift-and-slide door requires more effort to open. Unfortunately, I can’t make a direct comparison at the moment. What do the experienced home builders think about this?

Regards,
Uwe

Is a PSK door the same as a tilt-and-slide door? The terms confuse me a bit. We will think about it until next week and also ask about the cost of a lower threshold.

Thanks in advance for your opinions.

Parallel sliding tilt-and-turn door

Similar to a sliding door, but cheaper to construct and, in my opinion, not as elegant...

OK, that’s why I was confused. The tilt-and-turn door is not a sliding door at all. It’s not an option for us because it would extend too much into the dining area.

Wait, but there is also the parallel lift-and-slide door..

We chose a lift-and-slide door ourselves. I was familiar with it from home and find it easier to operate.

PSK was already shown by Frank78 in #16, wasn’t it!?
