Hello everyone,
This week we attended the selection appointment for our house and are still undecided about which type of door to choose for our balcony door (3m opening width): currently, a tilt-and-slide door from Kneer is included, while the lift-and-slide door would cost an additional 2630€ including film coating.
There seems to be some debate on this topic, as many say the lift-and-slide door requires more effort to open. Unfortunately, I can’t make a direct comparison at the moment. What do the experienced home builders think about this?
Regards,
Uwe

No, the video shows only a parallel sliding door (without tilt function)
Edit: Hmm, sorry, I might be mistaken. It could be that the sash tilts forward first and then slides. I didn’t clearly see that in the video.
But then a video of a normal lift-and-slide door is missing...
That means you slide one sash in front of the other, and the sash cannot be tilted.
With the parallel slide-and-tilt door, you first have to “pull out” one sash in order to slide it in front of the other. And the sash can also be tilted.
