Felix111719 Mar 2025 20:59Hi everyone,
I wanted to ask if anyone has experience with Isarholz windows. I am currently interested in the INO-HA80 MM model.
Basically, the key specifications are very good. The Ug value, concealed fittings, flush surfaces on both inside and outside. Even the sound insulation rating of 34 is good.
I have mainly seen comparable versions from much higher-priced suppliers like Josko and Internorm.
Since there are significant price differences here, I am a bit uncertain whether the quality might be compromised.
Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately, we don’t know your house since you only appear here as a one-time questioner. You can find my input as a former window manufacturer and later window dealer on the topic of wood-aluminum windows by using the keyword search (“wood/aluminum,” “wood-aluminum,” or “index” – written by 11ant). Wood-aluminum windows are generally either more expensive than pure aluminum ones or, in my opinion, inevitably cheap and low quality. There are also aluminum windows with excellent wood-look finishes. In any case, I strongly recommend buying through the installer!

Felix111720 Mar 2025 21:23Thank you first of all. I have read the comments, and yes, they are more expensive than aluminum, which is fine. Personally, I am not a fan of foil wrapping, but that is definitely a matter of taste.
I am not trying to compare aluminum with wood/aluminum windows, but rather looking for an assessment of the manufacturer. Naturally, I source my windows directly from the window installer who will fit them. However, the price difference between the offers is about 25% higher for Josko compared to what Isarholz charges. I doubt the window installer adds large markups, so the difference likely comes down to the cost price of the windows for the installer.
I understand that Josko is featured prominently in every glossy magazine and that comes with a price. That’s why I’m asking if anyone has experience with Isarholz and could share it. Since windows (there will be many large ones in my build) are an important element, I would prefer not to buy without knowing the details, but the price gap is quite significant.
Thanks for the information.

Felix111720 Mar 2025 21:47Well, I specified the windows – of course, every window manufacturer promotes the product they offer, and understandably, that is quite subjective. But yes, when I ask him, he says they are all top quality.

[...] I’m not looking to compare aluminum with wood/aluminum, but rather to get an assessment of the manufacturer. Excluding suppliers priced below "pure aluminum" is already a good start. We decided back then on Pax AG, exclusively for wood-aluminum windows and wood (for other materials we also used additional suppliers). Our top priority was simply to maintain our reputation with customers as a dealer (for all materials) at the same level as we had previously as a manufacturer (only pure aluminum), at least in the premium segment. In PVC, we covered both the premium and economy segments, but never discount. After all, we also entered the commercial sector purely with aluminum.

I personally do not like foil coating, but of course that is a matter of taste. It actually isn’t just a matter of taste when judging the product visually in everyday use. Tactilely, there is no sense of "fake!" and even if you handle or sniff the windows, they never smell like freshly cut wood.
I am advising you from the perspective of a former manufacturer-turned-dealer who saves you exactly the part of your money where you get nothing extra besides a higher price. As I said, we chose Pax AG for their quality, not against Isarholz or Internorm. Josko was not even considered due to their upscale image. We never wanted customers whose primary concern is that their accountant looks up to them as (comparatively) less wealthy. However, we are equally happy to drive "just" a Mercedes instead of a Maserati, and anyone can consider that a matter of personal taste.
