I am considering installing dimmable LED spotlights. My concern is that the spotlights might buzz when they are not set to full brightness. Please excuse me if my question doesn’t make sense electrically—I am a complete amateur when it comes to electrical matters 🙂 Thank you!

So far, I haven't heard (haha) LED spotlights buzzing; if anything, it was the wall dimmers. Please explain your planned setup.

Phew, setup… I’m not that far yet. For me, the main question is whether to install a suspended ceiling, for example in the bedroom, with LED spotlights. However, only if they are dimmable. I’ve heard that this is generally possible. That said, it would be extremely annoying if the lights or any related components produce audible buzzing sounds. I can’t say anything about the electrical setup, as I’m not knowledgeable enough.

The question was more: How do you want to dim the lights – LED spots recessed in the ceiling and then dimmed directly with a wall dimmer? Or do you want to install something like Philips Hue bulbs and then dim them using a remote dimmer and possibly a mobile phone?

Got it! I want to dim directly using the wall dimmer only, no wireless dimmer or mobile phone.

I don’t see any problems with that "these days." The important thing is that the light bulb and dimmer are compatible. There are different types of dimmers – leading edge or trailing edge. It’s best to get advice from a specialist retailer (there are also good online stores) and ask questions.
