We have a living room wall that is just over 3m (10 feet) wide. In front of it, we want to place a wall unit.
We are considering one of those modern modular wall units with a sideboard in the middle and display cabinets on both sides.
Our problem is that the inspection opening for the underfloor heating is built into this wall, with the usual components such as control valves and heat meters.
The inspection opening must, of course, be accessible at all times, for example in case of malfunction or for maintenance work, roughly once a year.
Suspended sideboards or display cabinets are naturally not possible in this area.
How can I move standard wall units as easily, gently (for the floor), and vibration-free (to protect contents/glass) as possible? We have glued parquet flooring.
Are there visually acceptable castors with steering capabilities that can be pre-installed and are suitable for the heavy weight of a fully loaded display cabinet?
Or are felt or silicone glides recommended to move the furniture on a smooth parquet floor?
Who has experience with this?
Thank you all.

Wall-mounted sideboards or display cabinets are obviously not possible in this area. Why not? I would choose a sideboard with internal dimensions arranged so that when you clear out a compartment, you can directly access the inspection flap.
In my condominium hallway in front of the heating circuit distributor, I used heavy-duty shelving just like that.

Who has experience with this? It depends on the total weight and height. Over 50 kg (110 lbs) with a high center of gravity is problematic.
There are ball casters instead of wheels, which might work. I just don’t know if they come in versions suitable for parquet floors and with locking brakes.
Otherwise, you could fully embrace an industrial loft style and use heavy-duty casters.
Personally, I would go with my first option.

Are there visually acceptable swivel floor casters that can be pre-installed and are also suitable for the heavy weight of a fully loaded display cabinet? If I have correctly identified your misunderstanding, only the middle section needs to be movable, while the heavy parts on the left and right remain in place.https://www.instagram.com/11antgmxde/

How can I make standard living room wall units as easy as possible,Your description of the “modern living room wall units” you have in mind includes several elements, right? It should be easy enough to move the central sideboard. Is the house already built? Otherwise, I would suggest reconsidering the layout.
