Hello,

we have purchased a new semi-detached house.

The house will be white with beige accents.

We were considering having the windows, window sills, and roller shutters in anthracite to create a nice contrast. The windows would then match the front door, garage door, canopy, rain gutter, and patio roof, which are also anthracite.

Are there any issues with window sills and roller shutters in anthracite?
Is it possible for the roller shutters to warp?

The roller shutters will probably be made of plastic; I am not yet familiar with the material used for the window sills.

Also a nice door with a wood finish.
We will also choose a door without windows. We believe that an exterior door can, or even should, come without glass.

But is there any reason besides aesthetic concerns to choose anthracite-colored windows, roller shutters, and similar elements?

It is a wooden door, so not just a wood finish :-)

Oh, a real wooden door.
That must have a hefty extra cost, right?

This is how our front door will look.
The interior doors will have the same design with the horizontal bars but in white, and all of this without any additional cost.

Modern dark gray door with long vertical stainless steel handle and horizontal stripes

About €5,000 (around $5,400) with some extras :-) We’re getting the doors from Poland 8-)

@Pacc666 Do you coordinate this with your future neighbors? I think these deliberately mismatched semi-detached houses always send a message of "We couldn't get along even during the construction phase."

Trend maybe, but apart from white/light gray, it is really difficult for a builder to choose colors outside of this mainstream, as it often comes with significant additional costs.
