Hello
Are there good retrofit smart home systems available?
We bought a semi-detached house as a new build from a developer.
The electrician declined to work with KNX and said he is not familiar with it and won’t do it.
My question is: Are there good retrofit options for smart home systems that don’t require opening up the walls (that is not an option)?
Which systems would you recommend?
Functions:
Light control
Window sensors (preferably invisible)
Shutter control
Music control
Video doorbell
It should definitely be possible to create scenes and rules.
I’m also open to other suggestions for useful functions I may not have thought of yet.

It is possible to connect both, but some prefer not to do so for safety reasons. Although I fail to see how having a separate external circuit would be a disadvantage. What does the door lock have to do with the external circuit? The actuator is located in the distribution panel.
Otherwise, the approach is correct; just never connect the lock directly to the fingerprint scanner that can be accessed from the outside.

Sorry, I can’t do anything about it, the word is too broken 😀

Otherwise, the approach is correct, just never connect the lock directly to the fingerprint scanner that can be accessed from the outside. When I considered the implementation, I often encountered the opinion that the motorized lock or its control should not be integrated into the KNX system. The reasoning was that you just need to send a value to the correct group address and the door would unlock.
I ruled this out as unlikely for myself because I would first have to access the bus from outside. And even if it is accessible, it should actually be a separate line with a filter.
What would be a clean solution for the front door with the following features:
Video intercom
Fingerprint sensor
Electric door lock
How can this be achieved?
How does the video intercom (preferably with integrated fingerprint sensor on the outside) communicate with the door?
How is the electric door lock connected to the front door?
How is it powered?
Is it possible to retrofit this, prepare for it in advance, or fully integrate it immediately during new construction?

How can this be achieved I decided on DoorBird + Ekey + GU.

How will the video intercom system (preferably with integrated fingerprint reader outside) communicate with the door? In my case, it doesn’t communicate at all. When someone rings, you can see who is at the door, but you have to open the door manually. Of course, it could also be linked together.

How is the electric door lock connected to the front door? It requires a power supply and an input to trigger the unlocking pulse.

How is it powered? From the power supply in the distribution cabinet.

Can this be retrofitted, pre-installed, or integrated completely in a new build? You can always do it, but since not everything can be wireless here (power supply), it’s recommended at least to prepare for it.
