February was a particularly interesting month for our heat pump’s energy consumption. 🙂
It clearly shows how much electricity usage depends on the outside temperature. This February, here in the north, we experienced everything from -10°C (14°F) to +18°C (64°F).
We heat, ventilate, and bathe with the Tecalor THZ 504, now in its first year (so the consumption is still a bit higher), and we maintain a cozy 24°C (75°F) indoors.

We are treating ourselves to a cozy 24°C (75°F) indoors. You don’t build a house to be cold. 🙂
What other comforts are you enjoying right now?

What other luxuries do you have at the moment? If you are cold in your house, something is wrong. But heated rooms are not a luxury.T_im_Norden schrieb:
What is needed, I had already written a few pages earlier,
but as I said, start your own thread for that.
And you yourself have already realized that there is still potential with your heat pump.
“Here’s the thing: the consumption has almost halved! We currently need 10-12 kWh and don’t have to ventilate out as much heat anymore. The system also runs only 4 hours daily instead of 8.”
“As for the heat output, my only explanation is that we were overheating and therefore ventilating out so much, and the system was constantly reheating. But I haven’t fully understood it yet either.” OK, but I don’t want to start my own thread, and I’m not willing to spend that much time on it anymore—maybe next winter again. But thanks for your support!
@Kathi: how large is your house? We used 650 kWh in February. The average temperature was 1.9°C (35.4°F).

If you are cold in your house, something is wrong. But heated rooms are not a luxury. The problem is that in about 90% of cases the temperature is right, but then you have guests, the sun is shining, and suddenly it’s 23.5°C (74.3°F) in the living room and I’m sweating...
