I am building a detached house (brick by brick).
The building inspector pointed out that the windows are only fixed on the left and right sides. The fixing at the bottom is still missing. (Fixing at the top is not possible due to the roller shutters.)
I spoke with my neighbor (different builder). His windows were installed the same way (without fixing at the bottom).
How is it with you?

Personally, I believe the screws at the bottom could probably be omitted. But that is not decisive.
I might recommend this: Let the complaint process proceed. Skip your own re-inspection and simply ask the site manager by email if all the complaints have been resolved. He will probably want to call you.
Best regards
Gabriele

Hello,
the windows must be installed according to their specific structural design. Depending on the size, the side brackets alone are no longer sufficient. However, the window manufacturer must provide proof of this if the inspector raises an issue. Therefore, as described above, record the defect. The manufacturer must either fix the defect or prove that there is no defect (structural verification).

Depending on the type of masonry, it doesn’t really hold up at the bottom anyway, does it?I think we’re talking about floor-to-ceiling windows, right? In my opinion, it’s uncommon for the smaller ones.Similar topics
